Dr. Mubasher Ahmed Bashir

Dow Chemical Company

Research Scientist

Mubasher Bashir (PhD in Chemistry from German Institute of Plastics, DKI, TU Darmstadt, Germany) is a research scientist and the global polymer separations technology network leader in Analytical Science, Core R&D, at the Dow Chemical Company. He has a 17+ years of experience of analytical research in chemical industry. His current work focuses on the characterizing complex polymers employing various separation techniques (such as AF4, SEC, 2D-LC) and advanced detection with the goal of establishing structure property relationships to facilitate new product and process development.

Applications of Two-Dimensional Liquid Chromatography (2DLC) in the Chemical Industry

2DLC is a powerful tool at the disposal of analytical scientists in the chemical industry. It can be applied to answer analytical questions in both research and manufacturing. The distinct separation patterns provided by 2DLC aid in the presence or absence of specific analytes. This talk will showcase some examples of 2DLC applications in solving problems related to polymeric samples within the chemical industry.
